This is Rosnah, a 60-year old woman who lives with her only daughter.

There is no one at home.

From birth to adolescence, teenage and adulthood. A mother has been through it all.

She has handled the mischief, been proud of the achievements, guided through tough times and most important of all - she has loved unconditionally.

This is Farah, Rosnah’s daughter.

She is a real estate agent.

Because of her job schedule, she is unable to make it home early for dinner with her mother.

It’s easy to get so caught up with our own lives we forget to appreciate the ones who gave us life.

More than just that, it is all the little details we miss every day.
It is offering to clean the dishes when we look tired despite having a million other chores to do.

It is always asking if we have eaten, and if not, cooking for us to eat.

It is understanding when we are busy with work and not asking for our time.

Rosnah is struggling to find what she needs for her dish.

Not wanting to trouble her daughter any further, she asks a neighbour for help.

A story near and dear to our hearts, Doa Mak tells the story of a mother’s love and how a mother puts in her all despite her difficulties to give her daughter a lovely birthday surprise. It shows the unconditional love a parent has for her child.

After a long day or work for Farah, and a long day of preparing dinner for Rosnah, they both settle down to have a meal together.

A meal so simple, but so much love and effort put behind each dish made. We don’t notice when she spends hours in the kitchen preparing a delicious dinner for us to come home to, then still cleaning up right after so we don’t have to. We don’t see how she spends her free time washing and ironing the clothes just so we always have something to wear.

And we know there will always be someone to come home to.

That’s a mother’s love.
